Our rip(print & cut) programs will print EPS,PDF,JPEG,TIFF files. We prefer PDF, or EPS (eps can include a contour cut / die cut) Jpegs and tiffs should be 180-360 ppi if possible(1/2 or 1/4 the printers 720dpi) It is not desirable to create the artwork at actual size when very large…(scaling) The “rip” programs we have will scale your artwork (to any size!) without losing ppi. It is advisable in many cases to pull the photo into Photoshop and increase the ppi while keeping the photo the same size. If you simply just enlarge the artwork, many times it will be grainy and curves will have a saw-tooth or stepped appearance.) Photos do look better when an srgb1966 profile is embedded or whatever colour profile the camera used. Photos with no srgb profile embedded will not reproduce with the correct “colour rendering intent”! so do keep the ppi high and our (Rip) program will enlarge it. Pdf ...usually you will want to hide the artboard….use it for your finished size,,,BUT...if you want a large print to cover the entire area of substrate then oversize (bleed) your artwork to make the install easier….(making the decal it the exact size as the sign makes it more difficult to apply later). When saving as pdf...do not downsample...do embed all profiles...postscript level 3 EPS files….remember to convert text to outlines in illustrator or “convert to curves” in Corel.
AI. files are good also, as they are smaller and we will convert them to eps for printing.
When you want a real solid black….c=100 m=100 =100k =100…. Not c=0,m=0,y=0,k=100
